These magnets are made of the most powerful commercially available N52 grade Neodymium. In accordance with our tests the maximum pull force generated between a single magnet and a thick, ground, flat steel plate is 8.5 lb. However, since pulling force is tested under laboratory conditions, you very likely won't achieve the same holding force under real world conditions. The peak pulling force is reduced by several factors like pulling in a non-perpendicular direction to the steel, trying to attach to thin metal, surface coating etc.
Neodymium is a weak material. Neodymium magnets are hard, high in magnetic strength and fairly brittle. Try not to let the bright nickel plating trick you - these magnets are not as solid as steel. Don’t even try to drill your neodymium magnetic discs, this is a sure-fire way to ruin them!
Most modern electronics, like tablets, are not going to be adversely affected by small magnets. However, magnetic fields can temporarily interfere with the digital compass and magnetometer inside your tablet. Apple recommends avoiding the use of magnets and metal components in cases, because of potential problems magnets can cause for the autofocus rear camera with optical image stabilization. It seems as though our Neodymium N52 magnets aren’t likely to kill your tablet, but there’s definitely a possibility they’ll mess some aspects up.
These strong neodymium magnets are good to locate steel nails that hold the drywall. If you slowly slide a magnet along the surface of your drywall, it will be attracted to the steel nails/screws that come up very close to the surface of the wall. But cover the magnet with a piece of tape before sliding it all around your painted wall. Neodymium magnets are coated with metal which can make marks on the wall.
It all depends on the size and weight of the tank bag being hung, and the thickness of the plastic shroud. The thicker the shroud, the weaker the hold. The setup relies even more on the friction between the smooth magnets and the plastic shroud. You'll have to space enough magnets across the length of it so that the tank bag doesn't wave in the breeze.
We tested these magnets on a typical, painted steel (not stainless) refrigerator, with the magnet placed on the inside of the cap. A single magnet worked well on the 1.5oz jar filled with sugar, but it failed to hold up the 4oz jar filled with sugar. When you stick a jar with a magnet on the lid to the fridge, the magnet will tend to stay stuck to the fridge. That’s why you need to glue the magnet on top of the lid. A dab of superglue might work best. We tried these magnets for 4oz jars and they worked well. For lager 6oz jars the strength was nice, if a little on the weaker side. Please, pay also attention that some stainless steels are ferromagnetic (magnets stick to it), while others are definitely not.
If you need to hold a car windshield snow cover these magnets are perfect. Of course, we assume that the car body is made of metal. And it still depends on the size and weight of the cover. The thicker the cover, the weaker the hold. But on the other hand, the more magnets you attach, the stronger the hold. This is a pack of 12 strong neodymium magnets, which should be enough for most cases.
There are several companies that use ZOPRIMA magnets when designing clothing with magnetic buttons. These magnetic clasps are virtually effortless to open and close but can still maintain a secure, magnetic hold. If you are sewing magnets into clothes, then you’ll need a magnet cover. A cover helps to prevent the magnet from breaking or shattering and it makes sewing possible. You can use them in pockets, collar stays, and regular shirt or coat buttons, but just remember that these magnet are made of the most powerful commercially available N52 grade Neodymium and can be potentially harmful to technology like pacemakers.
In the first place, please pay attention that some materials are ferromagnetic (magnets stick to it), while others are definitely not. If you need to hold a badge made of ferromagnetic material to a wool felt cowboy hat, these magnets are perfect. Otherwise, it’s a good idea to use two magnets, one of which is glued to the badge. But do not use a hot glue gun on neodymium magnets, the high temperatures can demagnetize your magnets.
Two neodymium magnets placed on opposite sides of a fuel line will do the same thing as the expensive "fuel extenders". It's pretty common. But make sure the magnets are not directly metal-on-metal.
Every magnet has both a North and a South pole. This is the nature of magnetism. Magnets attract all ferromagnetic objects. There is no difference what side of magnet is being attached. Iron and steel are two examples of materials with very high permeability, and they are strongly attracted to magnets. If both attached surfaces are magnets, then you need to join a south pole of the first magnet to a north pole of the second magnet. Otherwise, they will push off each other.
Small parts are not for children under 3 years or any individuals who have a tendency to place inedible objects in their mouth.
Magnets could affect the functioning of pacemakers and implanted heart defibrillators. If you wear these devices keep sufficient distance to magnets.
Unsafe handling could cause jamming of fingers or skin in between magnets. Wear protective gloves when handling magnets.
Neodymium magnets are brittle. Avoid the collision of magnets. Sharp splinters could injure your eyes. Wear safety glasses when handling magnets.
